The Velocity Certified Hardware line is something special.  These are carefully selected products that are designed to work together in perfect harmony.  They come pre-configured from Velocity Inventory specifically for use only with Velocity Inventory.  We have taken these complex products and turned them into easy to use inventory tools. You take them out of the box, turn them on, and they just start working.  No configuration, or wireless network setup is necessary.  We take care of all that for you, behind the scenes, long before you receive your shipment.  Velocity Inventory is your IT department.  And if you choose to rent the hardware, we event throw in an abuse-level, overnight replacement warranty.  Just so you can sleep easier at night, knowing that even if your guys run over the scanner with a fork lift, it is fully covered and a replacement unit will be on the way tomorrow.  That is peace of mind.

Velocity Certified Mobile Bar Code Scanner:
 

This unit is manufactured by Datalogic for Velocity Inventory.  Datalogic is a global player in the Rugged Mobile Computers market, and is widely considered to produce some of the best Mobile Bar Code Scanners in the world.  This unit is no exception.  The Velocity Certified unit is an real-time, wireless, industrial pistol-grip scanner, and is designed to take the abuse of working in a warehouse. 

This is a "One Dimensional" laser scanner.  That means it will scan most "normal" types of bar codes.  By normal, I mean the ones that you are used to seeing.  The ones that look like the UPC code on your bag of potato chips.  There is another type of Bar Codes called "Two Dimensional".  They do not look like normal bar codes, more like dots and bullseyes,  and our scanners will not scan those.  This scanner is a standard range scanner, this means it will scan a bar code on a product or a shelf from a comfortable distance.  The distance depends on the size of the bar code.  A small UPC code can be scanned in the one foot range, a large shelf location label might be scanned from up to four feet away.

The Datalogic Velocity Certified Mobile Bar Code Scanner offers excellent reliability and is comfortable to use for a 8 hour shift.  This particular unit comes with the patented Datalogic Green Dot technology.  This feature projects a small green dot onto the bar code you just scanned, letting you know that the scan was successful.  A nice alternative to a beep in a noisy environment.  As I like to say when showing a new user how to use the scanner, "Green means Good."

Mobile Bar Code Scanner Holster and Belt:

Two free hands are better than one.  Give your employees a place to put the scanner while they are carrying your valuable inventory.  This is a tough ballistic nylon Holster that is reversible to be used on either hip.  Handy if you have any left-handed folks in the warehouse.  It has a small pocket on the front for pen's, ship tag's, etc., and includes an adjustible belt.

Velocity Certified Wireless Access Point:

A good industrial quality access point is essential if the Velocity Certified Hardware is going to work correctly.  Both the Mobile Bar Code Scanner and the Thermal Transfer Printer are real-time, wireless units.  This means they need to have access to the Internet to talk to Velocity Inventory.  The Wireless Access Point provides this.  If you have never set up a wireless network before, don't worry.  We have made it a very simple process.  Open the box, plug in the power cord, plug in your network cable, and it is good to go.  The trick is that we pre-configure it before we send it to you.  After you place your order, one of our certified technician's will give your network person a call.  They will ask a very simple question about your IP address.  Once they have the answer, they set the access point up for you.  The mobile bar-code scanner and the label printer are pre-configured to find this access point, so turn on the access point first, and the rest of the pieces just fall into place. 

A single Access point will typically provide adequate wireless coverage over a 20,000 sq. ft diameter area.  Things such as walls, inventory stacked to the ceiling, and large amounts of metal tend to restrict the wireless signal coverage area..

Velocity Certified Thermal Transfer Printer:

This unit is manufactured by Datamax for Velocity Inventory.  Datamax is a global leader specializing in the design, manufacture, and marketing of products for bar code and RFID labeling.  The Velocity Certified unit is a wireless, industrial grade, thermal transfer printer, and is designed to take the abuse of working in a warehouse.  It offers excellent reliability, and we have gone the extra mile with Datamax to provide you with a Wireless Network Connection.  This is extremely convenient for you, because you do not need to worry about plugging a network cable into it.  All it needs is power.  You can place this printer anywhere in your warehouse and immediately start printing labels.  Put it on a rolling cart and move it around to different places as you need it.  If you can run an extension cord to it, you can print labels. 

The Velocity Certified label printer will print multiple sizes of labels for all your labeling needs.  Everything from small item labels to large location labels.  We offer premium quality Velocity Certified labels in the following sizes: 1"x2", 2"x4", 4"x6".

Also, this is a Thermal Transfer printer.  That is the good type.  Direct Thermal printers are cheaper, but the labels start to fade over time and in direct sunlight or heat.  Think of a gas station receipt left on the dash of your car.  Black as night.  Try scanning that bar code...  We only offer a Thermal Transfer printer.
